While driving to church last Wednesday night, we saw the most beautiful views of the sunset. My boys told me what shapes they saw in the clouds as talked about the clouds and the sky. I recall doing the same thing when I was a child. How peaceful and relaxing it is to look up and see such beauty!
Psalm 19:1 says, The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Just looking up in the sky reminds us of how big our God is. Genesis 1:1 says, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
This world is so full of negativity. Because it is changing daily, we do not know what to expect next many times. We all go through difficult times in our lives. We may be grieving because of the loss of a loved one. We could be experiencing a health issue of our own or worrying about a health issue of a close friend or a family member. We could be enduring a financial endeavor gone wrong. Our difficulties could be the result of any one of these things, a combination of events, or life in general at the moment.
God says in Proverbs 27:1, Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. There is so much we do not know; therefore, we need to focus on what we do know. We do know that Jesus is coming soon! The Bible tells us we should look up for Him daily.
Instead of focusing on what we do not have, we should focus on what He has given us! We have His Word, and we can fellowship with Him every day. He is our greatest and truest Friend. Proverbs 18:24 says, …and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
Despite all of the frustrating conspiracies we hear about global warming, we know that God created Earth for His children. He gave it to us to enjoy—the waters, the heavens, the flowers, the animals, and everything else on Earth!
Stop looking down on life’s problems; instead, take the time to look up! Enjoy what He has done, what He will do, and what He is doing for us. This old, familiar hymn chorus is a great reminder:
“Look and live,” my brother, live,
Look to Jesus now and live.
‘Tis recorded in His Word, Hallelujah!
It is only that you “look and live.”

Do not forget today to look up!
